KubeCon + CloudNativeCon India 2025

Speedscale connected with the cloud-native community in Hyderabad, featuring Pega Systems' packed session on 'Containerized Time Travel: Replicating Production Performance.'

Event Details

August 2025 • Hyderabad, India

After customer visits in Bangalore and reconnecting with partners, the centerpiece of our India trip was KubeCon in Hyderabad. The energy was unmistakable, with halls filled with engineers, community leaders, and companies all pushing the boundaries of what's possible with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.

Pega Systems Session: Containerized Time Travel

Most Memorable Session

One of the most memorable sessions was led by Pega Systems, presenting on "Containerized Time Travel: Replicating Production Performance." The room was packed, with attendees standing along the walls to catch a glimpse.

Real-World Traffic Replay in Action

Pega shared how they use Speedscale to record production traffic and replay it in controlled environments. When they experienced a major incident in one of their systems, they took the actual traffic from that event and replayed it in another environment.

The Demo: Banking Application Incident

Their demo centered on a banking application where user logins were failing, caused by:

  • High user volume combined with unique login data
  • System stress in unexpected ways

By replaying the failing login traffic, they were able to pinpoint the root cause with the help of Grafana dashboards and Jaeger traces. The session resonated strongly with the audience because it showed not just theory but a concrete example of how replaying traffic can accelerate incident analysis and prevent future outages.

Expo Floor Highlights

Packed with Energy

The expo floor was packed with lines for demos and filled with people thirsting for best practices on load testing and API security.

Community Collaboration

What stood out most was the openness of the community, with everyone eager to share lessons learned and collaborate on what's next.

Customer & Partner Visits

Before KubeCon, we spent time in Bangalore meeting with customers and prospects. Highlights included:

  • Flipkart Office Visit: Walking through a tech complex buzzing with thousands of engineers was awe-inspiring. The energy and innovation in every corner was palpable.
  • Texas AI Partnership: Shared ideas and explored ways to help teams move faster and build more reliable systems.
  • Customer Conversations: Heard firsthand about testing strategies, challenges, and ambitions from teams across India.

Reflections on India's Growth

Returning to India for the first time since COVID revealed incredible changes:

  • Growing middle class and rising consumerism
  • Elevated trains connecting major parts of cities
  • Fully electronic and faster immigration process
  • Palpable energy and ambition in the engineering community
"Seeing the growth of the conference in India, the scale of participation, and the enthusiasm of younger engineers reinforced just how dynamic this ecosystem is. It's not just about tools or infrastructure; it's about a shared mission to make software more resilient, scalable, and reliable."
